Cathodic Protection Materials & Services
Cathodic protection is a typical technology used in many sectors to prevent corrosion of metal structures such as pipelines, tanks, steel-pier piles, and offshore oil platforms by using a low electrical current. This approach pulls corrosion-causing electrons away from the structure by transforming the metal surface into a cathode. Cathodic protection, in this way, considerably increases the lifespan of these structures and decreases the need for costly repairs and replacements. This approach is also environmentally friendly because it eliminates the need for hazardous chemicals that are commonly used to limit corrosion.
