Sacrificial Anodes (Galvanic Systems)

A galvanic cathodic protection system, which shields submerged or buried metal structures from corrosion, primarily consists of a sacrificial anode.

Magnesium, aluminum, and zinc are the three primary metals utilized as galvanic anodes. They can all be found as blocks, rods, plates, or extruded ribbons, thus when designing a galvanic anode CP system, a number of things need to be taken into account. These include the kind of structure, the service life, the coating type, and the resistivity of the electrolyte (soil or water) in which the system will function.

  • Magnesium Anodes: Mg Anodes are used to for Cathodic Protection in different types of structures (tank / vessel internal / external protection applications). They are manufactured in a comprehensive range of shapes and sizes. Mg Anodes are available in two grades, High purity & Normal Concentration.
  • Mg anode casting has a central steel insert to ensure even dissipation of the anode material over time. The cable connection is brazed to the steel insert and epoxy resin encapsulated. containing a backfill of Gypsum, Bentonite and Sodium Sulphate. The anode and backfill are contained in a cotton bag. And we can supply Bare Mg Anodes ONLY.
    • Magnesium Ribbon Anodes: Mg Ribbon Anodes are used to achieve cathodic Protection of well-coated buried pipelines, internal protection of water tanks, pipeline casing sleeves, AC Mitigation, and temporary cathodic protection. Suitable for use in soil and fresh water.
  • Coil Length: 305 meters,
  • Size Of Ribbon: 19.05 mm x 9.52 mm
  • Diameter of Steel Core: 3 mm
    • Zinc Anodes for (tank internal protection applications): Anodes can be supplied in a range of sizes, weights, and chemical composition to suit your application. Zinc Anodes manufactured in round or flat bar steel insert which is provided with a double crank Or Straight arrangement for direct welding to the structure OR we can also supply with bolts. Zinc Anodes can be Manufactured against specific requirements as well.
    • Zinc Ribbon anodes: Zinc Ribbon provides a very simple, cost effective, maintenance free method of corrosion control for buried or immersed metals like iron, steel, aluminum, copper, etc. In a continuous ribbon containing a steel wire core, zinc has been a highly effective and economical method of protecting a wide variety of underground and underwater metallic systems.
    • All Ribbon dimensions and weights Meet the chemical requirements of ASTM B418-95A Type I for seawater / brackish systems ASTM B418-95a Type II for onshore / soils. Moreover, it can be supplied in different sizes such as Super, Plus & Standard.
    • Aluminum Anodes for (tank internal protection / Offshore Platform applications): Anodes can be supplied in a range of sizes, weights, and chemical composition to suit your application. Al. Anodes manufactured in round or flat bar steel insert which is provided with a double crank Cow Horn arrangement for direct welding to the structure OR we can also supply with bolts. Al. Anodes can be Manufactured against specific requirements as well.
