ICAF / MGPS

Utilized to cost-effectively prevent biofouling of interior pipework and strainers in cooling systems that use seawater and offshore structures. Copper anodes are used in MGPS and ICAF systems, and they are linked to a small control unit. A limited number of copper ions are released into the water passing through the ship’s sea water system or sea chests by the anodes, which receive impressed current. This creates an environment that keeps microorganisms from settling.
